Part I. “Strategic and Productive Networking” by Juliette Mayers, Executive Director at Blue Cross Blue Shield

Juliette Mayers is Executive Director, Multicultural Marketing at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts. She is an author, award-winning executive, business strategist, and a passionate community advocate. Juliette is emeritus Board President of Action for Boston Community Development (ABCD), a $150 million anti-poverty organization and the largest community action agency in the country. Massachusetts Governor, Deval Patrick appointed her to the Massachusetts Workforce Investment Board, a statewide policy making board that advises the governor on workforce investment. The Girl Scouts of Eastern MA recently selected Juliette as one of their Leading Women Awards honorees. The awards will be held at the Sheraton Boston on October 29th.

 A networking guru, Juliette is the author of A Black Woman’s Guide to Networking, Advance Your Career. Grow Your Business! which was recently featured on WCVB-TV, CBS, The Boston Globe and other media outlets. She is a sought-after speaker on a variety of leadership topics. Recent speaking engagements included 2020 Women On Boards, The Massachusetts Conference for Women; Women of the Harvard Club and the Harvard Business School Women’s Association; GetKonnected and the Global Diversity Leadership Conference at Harvard University (GDLC).

 Juliette is an alumna of Simmons Graduate School of Management where she earned her MBA and Northeastern University where she graduated with a BS in Marketing.

Part II. "Networking Tips for Minority Women to Achieve Corporate and Community Success," Madge M. Meyer, former Chief Innovation Officer of State Street, expert at advancing innovation and leadership across organizations.




Ms. Meyer was chief innovation officer and technology fellow at State Street Corporation, where she served as Executive Vice President for over a decade. She now represents State Street as a consultant assisting MIT Collaborative Initiatives. She is also the Chairman for HangTian’s Center of Technology & Business Innovation (COTBI.) Ms. Meyer is in the process of publishing a book about Innovation.

Ms. Meyer has been recognized with 12 awards for her industry and community achievements, including the Bank Systems & Technology “Elite 8 Innovators” list and the Bank Technology News 10th Annual “Innovators List,” which both honor executives who leverage innovation for competitive advantage. In her role at State Street, Ms. Meyer led her teams to receive an additional 32 awards for innovation and excellence, including 12 IT environmental sustainability honors.
Prior to joining State Street, Ms. Meyer served as first vice president for Merrill Lynch’s Enterprise Technology Services. Earlier in her career, she held several executive positions at IBM with responsibilities for global technology infrastructure strategy and implementation, application development, outsourcing service delivery, and worldwide network services.

Ms. Meyer is a graduate in mathematics and chemistry from the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor, and was commemorated as the 2010 Honoree on their College of Business Wall of Fame. She serves on the board of the Wall Street Technology Association, is a Sierra Ventures CIO Advisory Board member, a member of Simmons College’s School of Management Business Advisory Council, a CIO Advisory Board member of Globespan, and an advisory board member of the Asian American Civic Association.
